Tiny Tigers
In addition to our internationally recognized American Taekwondo Association program, we offer the Taekwondo for Tiny Tigers program. The Tiny Tiger program was developed specifically for preschool age children ages 3 through 6. This program offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline.
In addition, the program is designed to improve children’s motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions. All training sessions are taught using the most safe, fun, and exciting instruction methods available for this age group.
Students in the Tiny Tiger program learn half of a form (Some, more developed tigers do learn whole forms), only one One-Step, and one Self Defense segment, and when they test they follow a system of belts and patches, alternating from one to the other.
The order of belts and patches are as follows:
- White Belt
- Orange Belt
- Orange Belt w/ Tiger Patch
- Yellow Belt
- Yellow Belt w/ Cheetah Patch
- Camouflage Belt
- Camouflage Belt w/ Lion Patch
- Green Belt
- Green Belt w/ Eagle Patch
- Purple Belt
- Purple Belt w/ Phoenix Patch
- Blue Belt
- Blue Belt w/ Dragon Patch
- Brown Belt
- Brown Belt w/ Cobra Patch
- Red Belt
- Red Belt w/ Panther Patch
- Half Red / Half Black Belt (Black Belt Recommended)
- Solid Black Belt (Black Belt Decided)
Each student receives one belt of each color, and is present with only the patch at a later time. (i.e. I tested for my Yellow Belt, so I received a Yellow Belt. Next time I test, I will be receiving a Cheetah Patch to put on my Yellow Belt.)
All of the animal patches go on the Right side of the belt, while the “Learning” stripes received in class go on the Left side of the belt.
(R – Rank – Right, L – Learning – Left)
